Here's an excerpt from a story of mine:
With his favorite CD in the player, William enjoyed driving through the almost deserted area, only passing a few oncoming cars on the way.
He was forty minutes from the city when it happened. His car stopped. Just like that, it stopped.
“Shit,” William muttered to himself. He tried to start it, and he thought that it would, but then it died on him again. “Crap!” He got out and kicked the tire. “Piece of shit car!”
He popped the hood, hoping to see what was wrong, but he knew nothing whatsoever about cars and so he had no idea what it could be.
Scratching the side of his nose, he wondered what he was going to do. He couldn’t call his dad; he was almost four hours away from town, after all, and it wasn’t like his dad could leave the bar. Perhaps he could call Damon? He was probably still working, but being a photographer, Damon had a bit of a loser schedule than most working people.
William had just decided to go fetch his phone, when a man on a motorcycle suddenly pulled to a stop beside him.
“You need any help?” The man asked, pulling his helmet off and revealing the most handsome face William had ever laid eyes upon. A muss of middles-long, pitch-black hair framed his face – which was most likely thanks to the helmet he’d had on over his head seconds earlier – and he had the deepest, warm, chocolate brown eyes. He also wore a tight-fitting t-shirt that showed off his well-muscled upper body. The man was really drool-worthy.
“My car died on me,” he told the man, probably a little too late, but what the heck. The man was handsome, and it had totally knocked sense out of him for a while there.
