Web of Deceit
Only eight days had passed since Jenna Callaway and her husband signed the lease which marked the beginning of her new life. Somehow it seemed appropriate she’d be the first one driving the back roads through southern Maine to the little cottage they’d rented. It had been a long time since Jenna felt any true joy in her life. Not that today made her happy, just satisfied she’d finally made a decision on her own.

I'll Be Watching You
The moment Faith McKenzie stopped the car in front of the house she realized she’d made a dreadful mistake.
In truth she’d made several starting with what she prayed wouldn’t prove to be the biggest of all...being out all alone after dark. But then she hadn’t exactly planned on being gone more than a few hours when she’d left the house in a hurry after receiving the first call in weeks from an ‘unknown caller’ id.

Innocence Lost
Paige ran from the hospital, without looking back. She needed to escape. She ran faster, towards the stairs she knew would bring her to the café and safety two streets below. The railings were cold — the treads uneven and difficult to maneuver at a run. It kept her from thinking. She started to count - fourteen steps, landing — nine steps, landing — twenty-seven steps, landing — twenty-five steps, street.

Murder by Voodoo
"Alice doesn’t live here anymore." Simon said yawning into the intercom mounted beside the front door of the apartment. He ran a hand through his disheveled hair, bed head to the ninth degree. That’s what he gets for going to bed with the gel left in. Too many beers and garlicky chicken wings if his breath was any indication. Blowing into his hand he almost knocked himself out with the fumes.

Shadow Games
There was definitely something a little too familiar about the creep I’d spotted watching me in a storefront window earlier, and then again, when I’d stopped for coffee at Starbucks. I’d seen him somewhere before but I just couldn’t place where, only he really wasn’t much of a creep – at least not as far as looks were concerned. But then, most creeps didn’t look the part.

Passion's Revenge
Detective Carlos Diaz took slow, cautious steps along the dirty, cement floor of the warehouse. His trained gaze swept for danger with each calculated movement. Dust tickled his nose hairs and he fought not to allow his body to betray his presence. Successfully stifling a sneeze despite the musty dank smell, he lifted his foot and took another step. He knew within the parallel lane created by the stacks of dusty black barrels, his partner, Louis Arnold, mirrored his movements. He clutched the gun in his hand tighter, the cool, reassuring metal fusing to his skin to become an appendage of his taut muscles.

It was so crisp that ice spidered the glass, lacing the edges and working its way in. The tree outside her window stood big and branchy before the moon. Mom had opened the curtains wide, so the moon could be her nightlight.

Finding Mr. Right is Murder
Leanne Virginia Aimes never liked slumber parties, even when she was a kid. They required the perfect pajamas, which she never had, and fashionable toenails, which she’d never mastered. The other girls always wanted to put make-up on her face, but they invariably ended up poking her eyeball and making her look like Cyndi Lauper. Definitely not her cup of Chianti.

"I might as well walk in there naked." Dalton patted his jacket where his Glock should have been. He raised his eyebrows as his partner, Foster Mayhew, gave him an exaggerated once-over.

Shattered Truths
Jamie McWilliams paced in front of the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. She felt like a caged animal on view for all of Boston. She studied the people below and across from her on the fourteenth floor. Had he followed her? The threats had started three months ago, about the same time she'd picked up her father's last project.

Thousand Dollar Pharaoh
August 1945 in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt
Moaning as she regained consciousness, Chloe raised her head and twisted it from side to side, struggling to understand. Where was she? A jolt of searing pain in her upper right arm brought her focus back to the job. When she had signed on to become a United States Secret Service Agent in the counterfeiting division, they had neglected to mention all of the occupational hazards. She had quickly learned the missions providing an adrenaline rush always seemed to be accompanied by physical pain.

Reid Between the Lines
She always wondered if the devil wore black, and now as the dark figure looming over her drew closer AJ Summers thought she might get her answer. How long had he been there? How long had she? When she first opened her eyes he had stood motionless for a moment and then said something in a throaty whisper AJ didn’t understand. She tried to sit up, but a pain searing through her head forced her eyes shut, again.

An Open Book
A flurry of bullets peppered the windshield, but Sophia kept her head and kept control of the vehicle, as she had been trained to do. She'd turned tail and run at the first volley of gunfire from the waiting ambush. Two chase vehicles had been run off the road already. She was just nearing a turnoff where she thought she'd be safe for a moment to call in for back-up and regroup a bit.

Beneath A Stalker's Moon
Crisp October air settled on Katherine Shelby as she climbed from behind the wheel of her aunt’s silver Saturn. Brown leaves drenched in late afternoon sunshine crackled beneath her boots until an inexplicable chill of fear incited her beeline for the wide porch. She threw a look toward the autumn-hued mountains surrounding Sugar Cove, Tennessee, pulled a key from her jeans, unlocked the door, rushed through and closed it. Fear failed to dissipate when the door was again bolted. It had deepened when a glance at color-splashed peaks and foothills, part of her since childhood, didn’t reassure her that all was well.

When Danger Calls
Some cakewalk. This had turned from a routine mission into a straight-to-video movie. To Ryan Harper, it smelled rotten—even more rotten than the garbage piled in the alleyway they'd trekked through to get here.
