Sherry Gloag
Multi-published author, Sherry Gloag is a transplanted Scot now living in the beautiful coastal countryside of Norfolk, England. She considers the surrounding countryside as extension of her own garden, to which she escapes when she needs "thinking time" and solitude to work out the plots for her next novel. While out walking she enjoys talking to her characters, as long as there are no other walkers close by.
Apart from writing, Sherry enjoys gardening, walking, reading and cheerfully admits her books tend to take over most of the shelf and floor space in her workroom-cum-office. She also finds crystal craft work therapeutic.

Hello, I am a first time unpublished author seeking a great and honest critique partner. "Even if your critique hurts!" The name of my completed and "hopefully polished manuscript" is called 'THE UNEXPECTED'. The Unexpected is book # 1 of the romance series 'SOULMATES'. I have several ideas and have started brainstorming book 2, while characters and settings of books to follow are too in the making. Writing is a passion I've had since been was able to hold a pen and my imagination often runs away with me. I love reading mostly romance and paranormal romance with great plots and crazy atmospheres. I am also experimenting in writing another series, in the paranormal romance genre, which I'm not so keen on. Maybe it's because I prefer reading the paranormal to writing it. I don't know. We'll what happens! I am a 31 year old loving mother and hold a bachelors in psychology. I look forward to working with a long tern Critique Partner for years to come. Good Luck to you all! “Ana I asked you here today to talk to you about an opportunity,” Gina began. Gina was sitting behind her desk. There was a phone, a small inbox with a few papers, a framed picture of her dog and a flat screen computer. She clasped her hands together and leaned forward onto her desk.
Ana smiled back at her. “I am quite pleased to be here,” she said with as much enthusiasm as she could muster. The wooden chair did not have a cushion. It was arguably one of the most uncomfortable chairs Ana ever sat on. She angled her body and crossed one leg trying to be professional and not show Gina that her butt was aching.

I'm a romance writer currently 1/3 of the way into my book on the editing process. I need someone who can help inspire me to keep going, show me where I need to tighten my work, where my work needs work, or where I don't explain something good enough. I also have a blog in which I publish 300 words of a serialized fiction each week. I stopped b/c I noticed I have some mistakes that I didn't notice before b/c I don't have a lot of time to look it over before publishing. I want my critique partner to be able to look these over at the beginning of the week so I can publish my finished episode at the end of the week. I will give the same for you on your novel and book. Must be a quick worker and ready to work with me for a long time. If interested I would like to swap first chapters to see if we really are a fit. Romance writers a plus. Jun 18, 2011,

Looking for paranormal romance writer to act as a beta reader on my polished manuscript, DESIRES OF THE SOUL. Someone familiar with the works of Gena Showalter, Lara Adrian, Larissa Ione, etc. would be great, as my MS follows that style, but not necessary.
My MS is a mix of vampires and the celestial, so if combining the paranormal with certain religious elements bothers you, then you might want to pass.
Willing to reciprocate my services as a beta reader. My strengths are catching inconsistencies in the story, informing writer of my reactions as a reader (good or not so good), and relationship development between main characters. If you're looking for super-fine grammatical suggestions, I'm not your girld. I can't spot a split infinitive if my life depended on it...yet. ;) Mar 22, 2011,

I am an unpublished author working on my third novel. Novels 1 & 2 in the series are in editing. I love story telling, that is my strong point...lol. I chart my characters and timeline to improve flow. Details are important to me. I will tell you I write pg13 all the time. Not that my novels are without passion, but I believe not every reader wants to read how many times the couple has sex. That said I hope you like this small sample. Maybe we can work to help each other. Have a great day.

I am a published author that has wrote a few books and am looking for a really down to earth honest critique partner, for life. After searching a few websites for a little bit and racking my brain on this subject, I actually got the idea from a friend to look for a partner to help edit and critique my books. I am a published author, and am starting to write more and more and with that writing I really want to find a friend that will stick with me and we can read eachothers material and help one another over the years, yes I said over the years.. So if any of you like to read romance, perferably paranormal, contemporary or erotica let me know....
I am also open to any genre so don't let my prefrences distract you.. I have a college background and have published 3 books and have 2 in the making. Hi!
Actually, I'd like to call the critique partner a critique buddy, because real buddies tell it like it is for your own good and you love them for that. Here's the situation. I'm halfway through writing book two in my paranormal series and I'm going to need a merciless critiquer to read it. I'm willing to read your baby in return, of course. You'll get a good idea by checking out book one: The Unnecessary Bodyguard at Cobblestone Press. I've pasted an excerpt below.
Critique partner should have at least three published books with a reputable house and be very familiar with the paranormal genre.
About me:
I'm not new to writing despite this debut release. I've been writing professionally for five years and I'm also a manuscript and commercial copyeditor. That doesn't mean I'll correct your linguistic mistakes, lol. But I'll find and point out any weaknesses in your MS,including weak points in the characters and the plot, various inconsistencies, incoherencies, word repetition, poor phrasing, telling etc.

Unpubbed but hopeful! I do rom-com/contemp romance mostly. Wanna be Jennifer Cruisie with more depth. I like almost all genres except war/violence/slasher/horror/gore.
I'm looking for some entertaining and smart person/people to exchange work with. Yes, I know better than to end a sentence with, uh, with. 'Cause I do have a good grasp of mechanics.
I'm well and widely read, aware of writing trends, and flexible. My biggest weakness is a naughty desire to break genre restrictions and get away with it. Which would be find, were it always successful, er..but. Also, occasionally I try for outrageous and just end up outraging. Aw, well.
Send me something to read? Let's see if we click. Aug 12, 2010,

I'm looking for a male writing partner, mid-thirties to mid-forties to help with authenticity of my main character. Must be honest, willing to give both constructive criticism and ideas for improvement, but also able to point out things that are working well within the piece. I need objectivity, rationality, and someone who is not easily offended by violent and/or harsh subject matter. An overall impression and a line by line critique would be great, and in return, I promise to give the same attention to detail that I'm asking of my partner. I'd really like an honest CP and I in turn can be on for you. I will be brutally honest as I expect the same from my CP. Please email me if you are interested. I read mostly anything. I'm fine with vampires too. :) If I had to say what I have a problem reading, it would be....westerns? I'm including appx. the first 500 words to review to see if anybody would be interested in continueing. It is appx. 94,000 words and completed. Oh and to clarify, this is not my first manuscript. Searching for a writing partner
Hi, I'm searching for a critiquing partner for my books. I've already published a short story and have already submitted the 1st of a trilogy to my publisher. I generally write a mixture of adventure/ romance with humor usually in an urban setting but with fantasy based characters. I'm looking for someone with a good eye, is honest (not cruel) with their critiques and is easy with giving suggestions to alternate phrasing of words (at times I go brain dead and find myself reusing words). I also tend to use strong language or graphic situations depending on the character so don't be squeamish.
I'm easy to get along with though my humor is a bit off based but if your interested in helping me (and visa versa) please contact me at my e-mail. Jul 1, 2009,

It was a beautiful Thursday evening. The moon slowly rose above the ridge of the old barn, John always promised to have renovated. Hues of orange and pink strewn across the sky indicated that tomorrow would be another very hot day. Beyond those fluffy clouds, I wondered what was going on with the atmosphere.
Eight months of continuous sunshine and intensive heat became unbearable. People were fainting and dying from the sweltering high temperatures, whilst hospitals constructed temporary beds along the corridors to accommodate numerous patients.
The flipside of this was the beachfront scenery, which reminded me of wild life documentaries, but instead of animals was littered with hundreds of sunbathers. Feb 2, 2009,

Tell me again what we’re doing in the cemetery at midnight?” I asked, tossing a long lock of my blonde hair over my shoulder. “It’s a school night you know.”
Sebastian sighed. “This is part of your training, Simone. Every night you need to guard the town and protect the good people of Witchburn.”
It was dark. The full moon hung against a canopy of stars, and the half-light cast grotesque shadows over the headstones and through the wrought-iron gates, the buildings of the affluent Northern California homes gleamed darkly in the moonlight.
I noticed I had mud on my new jeans already—I was not happy. The autumn evening was warm for mid October and now I wished I’d worn a t-shirt instead of this long-sleeved knit sweater. And it itched.
