Melissa Moody - Looking for a Fantasy Novel Critique Partner
I'm looking for someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong, to make sure my Characters are good enough, to point out plotholes and sort out any grammar issues. I need someone who has no problems telling me when something needs to be cut out, and there to bounce ideas off. I am willing to do the same for them.
I'm attempting to write a Fantasy novel primarily aimed at Teenagers called 'The Faerie's Silence' which I hope to get published.
If you are willing, please get in contact.

I am looking for someone who can help me smooth out my chapters for a romance novel and I can return the favor (it doesn't have to be my genre as I enjoy all forms of writing.) It's so hard to edit my own work. I have ten chapters completed and about ten more to go.

Looking for a CP who can help with grammar, plot holes, and any other suggestions in a positive manner. I'm fairly new to YA and working on a YA Western Historical Romance with target of 50K. Still in RD form at this time and 33K Word count. I enjoy most YA, especially Paranormal and Fantasy, not as familiar with SyFi, but if you'd like to swap chapters to see if we'd be a fit, I'd be grateful.

I am searching for someone who is honest, even when the truth is harsh or hurtful. Someone who can help me keep the story going. Someone to bounce ideas off of and receive feedback. Hopefully someone that appreciates and wants the same qualities in a partner.

The digital display on the parking meter counted down last minute of Olivia’s time. Miserable feeling coiled through her with every decreasing number. Jess’ confession kept repeating in her head. Without it, the case could drag on for months. And neither prosecution nor the defence would be able to prove anything. Hilborn had been very careful and covered his ass well, but he’d overlooked the obvious— the unpredictability of the office bimbo. Unfortunately, poor Beatrice had now lost her job a couple of years before the retirement. Fired from the company where the management lacked any gratitude, the woman must’ve been denied everything they would have to pay out by law had they not given her the booth.

Critique Partner for a first time adult paranormal romance author
I'm going to be the next best selling author, or that's the plan, with a little hand from a committed critique partner :-) I'm looking for someone that I can bounce ideas off for the twists and turns in an adult paranormal romance. Will also like someone to pull me up if I'm telling rather then showing and using passive sentences etc. I'm looking for a person that's okay telling things how it is in a constructive way, who will also be dedicated enough to go over my WIP within a reasonable timeframe. I'm hoping this experience will be a enjoyable and challenging for the both of us. Contact me for a sample if you're interested.

I am not published yet but I write Urban Fantasy romance. Most of my chracters are other worldly living in a human world. I'm a bit sarcastic and try to make my characters as normal as their origins can allow. I need a partner to brain storm with, help me see what will or won't work. I have the world in my head but I need to get as much of it out as I can so the reader can feel what I do. I've done beta reading for a number of published and unpublished writers so I can offer to do the same for a partner.I've been told I have a knack for catching the little things.

I am an aspiring author looking for a critique partner. I am happy to be a beta reader for your work of art as well : give & take. My genre currently is paranormal romance (hot) but that might change later on - who knows? :) My writing is non-flowery ( a bit sarcastic actually) & first-person narration. Please e-mail me if interested.

I'm an un-published aspiring author, and would love to write for pretty much the rest of my life. My genres include: Science-Fiction, Erotica, Fantasy, Paranormal and Action :)
I'm looking for an open-minded critique partner that would be willing to go back and forth with me, possibly for hours, bouncing ideas and what-not and I need someone that'd be willing to check, well, everything- character dimension, grammar, spelling...etc. Honesty is very important, if you don't like, do like, or just don't know about something, tell me.
I have a tendancy to start out strong, but usually end up dwindling to minor details and dialogue. I always go back and fix it, but another mind not afraid to tell me I'm slacking would be a tremendous help.

Fraud Ghriaura's arms dripped blood from the wounds the thorny vegetation had given him. He hardly noticed, though, he was used to the sting. In his right hand he held a sword, which he used to chop off any unfortunate branch that got in his way. Sweat lingered on his brow, pasting locks of his golden streaked hair to his forehead. Despite his heart throbbing in his ears from climbing the steep, overgrown hill, he could distinctly hear the laughter and blather from his fellow warriors as they ate their supper early. All were either unaware or unconcerned about the eminent danger lurking in the very wood they were camped. Despite the matter that danger was the entire reason behind their current surroundings.
"Imbeciles," he muttered grimly and shifted his grip on the body he carried in his left arm.

I am looking for an honest critique partner that can recognize those things we all miss from time to time like misspellings, using the wrong word, a run on sentence, etc. I am also looking for someone who can discuss how the story reads, point out places where the story drags, tell what's clear and what's not, etc. Ok I want it all, but any help is better than no help. Since I am a teacher and an avid reader, I can be pretty decent at critiquing. I would enjoy helping another as well. I have not had much luck finding a critique partner, but I keep trying

Emmaline slipped into her pink satin dress, retrieved her sandals from beneath the best man's battered sofa, and tip-toed out the door. She'd decided not to leave a note. She walked across the lawn to her car and, suddenly, stopped. There, on the back of her ancient Volvo, was a bumper sticker she'd never seen before. It glowed in the light of the street lamp. It read, "Guilt is payment on trouble come due." As she stared at the neon yellow letters, a light came on in Walker's bedroom window. Emmaline glanced at his house, gazed again at her bumper, then got in her car and drove away. As she turned left on McDowell Street, then right on James, she wished, for the hundred thousandth time, she'd never agreed to marry Alexander Calder Coates at noon the very next day.

A legion of flashing lights pulsed like a lightning storm of green, blue and red. Warning filled the darkness. The tiny world smelling of old leather and grease had a serenity that the hostility outside couldn’t penetrate. Though the glass was un-tinted and scratched, it kept the violence away. That changed when Magylie opened the driver side door of her Jeep Cherokee. Chaos surrounded her immediately as she quietly closed it behind her, so the serenity wouldn’t be polluted. Squinting against the myriad of colorful flashing lights, she raised her hand to fend off the most offensive, red. Red lingered, even after the quick pulse of the light had faded, coating everything with a menacing aura. Those same red lights acted as a beacon to Magylie. It was starting point of a hunt that would end with her confronting the worst kind of monsters. Tonight’s monster was a sadistic rapist that left his victims shredded, barely alive, and aged seventy years.

A sequel my my self-published novel Decontamination, which was described as a “well-written, well-paced, and enjoyable, ” light crime thriller which is “thoughtful and engrossing, and also amusing and occasionally comical. It is an intelligent book with a tightly-executed plot and some intuitive character development” (Unbound Underground review.)
The sequel is a crime thriller focused on the legal highs drugs trade and political corruption, based in pre-Olympic London, and I need critique partners to help me both live up to an improve on this review.

For I'm an empty-nester looking to get back into writing so I'm willing to read as much as I can while I get back into things-not a super fast writer. Usually work with one chapter at a time, and create a crit technique which will work for both of us. My grammar is good, my writing is solid but kind of old school in style. I like things to be relaxed, open and honest and am looking for a partner out of college who enjoys different sub-genres.

Multi-published author, Sherry Gloag is a transplanted Scot now living in the beautiful coastal countryside of Norfolk, England. She considers the surrounding countryside as extension of her own garden, to which she escapes when she needs "thinking time" and solitude to work out the plots for her next novel. While out walking she enjoys talking to her characters, as long as there are no other walkers close by.
Apart from writing, Sherry enjoys gardening, walking, reading and cheerfully admits her books tend to take over most of the shelf and floor space in her workroom-cum-office. She also finds crystal craft work therapeutic.

Hello, I am a first time unpublished author seeking a great and honest critique partner. "Even if your critique hurts!" The name of my completed and "hopefully polished manuscript" is called 'THE UNEXPECTED'. The Unexpected is book # 1 of the romance series 'SOULMATES'. I have several ideas and have started brainstorming book 2, while characters and settings of books to follow are too in the making. Writing is a passion I've had since been was able to hold a pen and my imagination often runs away with me. I love reading mostly romance and paranormal romance with great plots and crazy atmospheres. I am also experimenting in writing another series, in the paranormal romance genre, which I'm not so keen on. Maybe it's because I prefer reading the paranormal to writing it. I don't know. We'll what happens! I am a 31 year old loving mother and hold a bachelors in psychology. I look forward to working with a long tern Critique Partner for years to come. Good Luck to you all! Sincerely, Lina Black

Looking for someone to trade chapter by chapter to get a novel ready to submit to publishers. My novel is equal parts paranormal romance, mystery and horror. I tread a fine line between occult, pop culture, religion and all things sensual in my writting. Hoping to find a critique partner with an open mind and a willingness to work on an agreed upon schedule to polish our novels until they shine like new pennies!

“Ana I asked you here today to talk to you about an opportunity,” Gina began. Gina was sitting behind her desk. There was a phone, a small inbox with a few papers, a framed picture of her dog and a flat screen computer. She clasped her hands together and leaned forward onto her desk.
Ana smiled back at her. “I am quite pleased to be here,” she said with as much enthusiasm as she could muster. The wooden chair did not have a cushion. It was arguably one of the most uncomfortable chairs Ana ever sat on. She angled her body and crossed one leg trying to be professional and not show Gina that her butt was aching.

I write different kinds of fantasy in both short story and novel form. My fantasy usually includes magic and fairies type creatures.

I'm a romance writer currently 1/3 of the way into my book on the editing process. I need someone who can help inspire me to keep going, show me where I need to tighten my work, where my work needs work, or where I don't explain something good enough. I also have a blog in which I publish 300 words of a serialized fiction each week. I stopped b/c I noticed I have some mistakes that I didn't notice before b/c I don't have a lot of time to look it over before publishing. I want my critique partner to be able to look these over at the beginning of the week so I can publish my finished episode at the end of the week. I will give the same for you on your novel and book. Must be a quick worker and ready to work with me for a long time. If interested I would like to swap first chapters to see if we really are a fit. Romance writers a plus.

Anne, by now, had re-surfaced and had gone back to gently floating in the water, thinking, “As much as I hate to, I better be getting back. I don’t want anyone worried that I was gone too long. But I definitely return; it’s so peaceful and private here.”

Looking for paranormal romance writer to act as a beta reader on my polished manuscript, DESIRES OF THE SOUL. Someone familiar with the works of Gena Showalter, Lara Adrian, Larissa Ione, etc. would be great, as my MS follows that style, but not necessary.
My MS is a mix of vampires and the celestial, so if combining the paranormal with certain religious elements bothers you, then you might want to pass.
Willing to reciprocate my services as a beta reader. My strengths are catching inconsistencies in the story, informing writer of my reactions as a reader (good or not so good), and relationship development between main characters. If you're looking for super-fine grammatical suggestions, I'm not your girld. I can't spot a split infinitive if my life depended on it...yet. ;)

I'd love a critique partner. Ashlynn Monroe is a busy wife and mom. She’s been writing since she was a teenager for her own pleasure but in her thirties, she decided it was time to share her stories. She enjoys writing about anything and everything paranormal or fantasy related. She spends most of her time daydreaming up her next tale of romance. She’d love to hear from you at authorashlynnmonroe@gmail. Visit her website at http://ashlynnmonroe.com/ to learn more about the worlds she imagines.

I am an unpublished author working on my third novel. Novels 1 & 2 in the series are in editing. I love story telling, that is my strong point...lol. I chart my characters and timeline to improve flow. Details are important to me. I will tell you I write pg13 all the time. Not that my novels are without passion, but I believe not every reader wants to read how many times the couple has sex. That said I hope you like this small sample. Maybe we can work to help each other. Have a great day.

Unpubbed, hopeful writer of contemporary, paranormal and young adult romance. I'm looking for someone who is patient but honest because I know I make mistakes. I'm an English teacher, so I rarely have grammar issues, but plotting and characterization sometimes give me headaches. I mostly need someone to help me brainstorm. Like I said, I am an English teacher, so I'm used to giving writing feedback, and can and will on a regular basis.

I am a published author that has wrote a few books and am looking for a really down to earth honest critique partner, for life. After searching a few websites for a little bit and racking my brain on this subject, I actually got the idea from a friend to look for a partner to help edit and critique my books. I am a published author, and am starting to write more and more and with that writing I really want to find a friend that will stick with me and we can read eachothers material and help one another over the years, yes I said over the years.. So if any of you like to read romance, perferably paranormal, contemporary or erotica let me know....
I am also open to any genre so don't let my prefrences distract you.. I have a college background and have published 3 books and have 2 in the making. I have a strong opinion and need one to balance out mine. Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org

Actually, I'd like to call the critique partner a critique buddy, because real buddies tell it like it is for your own good and you love them for that. Here's the situation. I'm halfway through writing book two in my paranormal series and I'm going to need a merciless critiquer to read it. I'm willing to read your baby in return, of course. You'll get a good idea by checking out book one: The Unnecessary Bodyguard at Cobblestone Press. I've pasted an excerpt below.
Critique partner should have at least three published books with a reputable house and be very familiar with the paranormal genre.
I'm not new to writing despite this debut release. I've been writing professionally for five years and I'm also a manuscript and commercial copyeditor. That doesn't mean I'll correct your linguistic mistakes, lol. But I'll find and point out any weaknesses in your MS,including weak points in the characters and the plot, various inconsistencies, incoherencies, word repetition, poor phrasing, telling etc.

Unpubbed but hopeful! I do rom-com/contemp romance mostly. Wanna be Jennifer Cruisie with more depth. I like almost all genres except war/violence/slasher/horror/gore.
I'm looking for some entertaining and smart person/people to exchange work with. Yes, I know better than to end a sentence with, uh, with. 'Cause I do have a good grasp of mechanics.
I'm well and widely read, aware of writing trends, and flexible. My biggest weakness is a naughty desire to break genre restrictions and get away with it. Which would be find, were it always successful, er..but. Also, occasionally I try for outrageous and just end up outraging. Aw, well.
Send me something to read? Let's see if we click.
